MEET OUR SUICIDE PREVENTION COLLABORATORS
OFFICIAL AMBASSADORS FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION, AWARENOW MEDIA
We are proud to partner with AwareNow Media in its mission to raise awareness for mental health and suicide prevention through the voices of the Official Ambassadors for Suicide Prevention and through its online magazine and podcast. Their platform gives a voice to those who have lost loved ones and to those fighting a system designed to fail them. For anyone struggling to hold onto hope, AwareNow offers a glimmer of light in the darkness.
To help keep your inner light shining, we invite you to read the very personal stories of their two Official Ambassadors for Suicide Awareness: actress, songwriter, and producer Isabella Blake Thomas, and our Founder, Kerry Martin, and why they do what they do.

dr. Diane Kaufman, MD., child psychiatrist & Suicide Prevention Activist
Our team is honored to be collaborating on a number of suicide prevention projects with Dr. Diane Kaufman, MD. Dr. Kaufman is a Child Psychiatrist, Humanism in Medicine Awardee, and Founder and Director of the innovative Arts and Healing Resiliency Center at Mind Matters PC. She is also a poet and artist dedicated to preventing suicide. Diane has earned awards for her collaborations with a wide range of artists, songwriters, composers, and videographers, creating powerful content on mental health themes. While her body of work is extensive, the following highlights a few of her contributions to suicide prevention, coping with loss, and healing from trauma.
"Don't Give Up" is a video animation and song that brings hope to those in a dark place, motivating them to never give up, letting them know they're not alone and to reach out for help. Written first as a poem and then turned into lyrics by Diane and Mia Stegner, with music and vocals by Mia, arrangement and production by Raymiah Jackson, and animation and special effects by Lucia Martinez Rojas.

Beautifully created, Diane's archetypal story of resilience and transformation, Bird That Wants to Fly, offers healing for children and adults who have been traumatized. Originally written as a children's book, it inspired the creation of a children's opera by composer Michael Raphael, and is also narrated by actor Danny Glover on an audible.com opera recording.

Diane dedicated her poem turned into song, "Wishing You Were Still Here," by singer-songwriter Ryan Brinker to all suicide loss survivors. By sharing here, we too hope it can help bring comfort to those who have lost loved ones to suicide, and can help prevent suicide.

STAND WITH US. TOGETHER, LET'S RAISE AWARENESS. LET'S SAVE LIVES.
We are building collaborative alliances with kindred spirits -- suicide prevention activists, mental health advocates, nonprofit organizations and social impact enterprises -- who share our vision. Through these ties, we can amplify our voices and truly make an impact on public attitudes, stigma, mental healthcare reform, and suicide prevention funding and policies. We are simply stronger when we stand together.
