About our program and Our mentoring team
Bipolar to Bipolar is a confidential peer mentoring program wherein peers with a bipolar diagnosis who are further along in their journey and are balanced virtually mentor those who aren't yet where they want to be. Kerry, Lucia and Hitesh have all been through some very challenging times as they have fought through their own personal darkness back into the light. Along the way, they have learnt some life lessons, tools and techniques that, in retrospect, they wish they had known. And, they all feel that these would be valuable to those who are not quite as far along on their own personal journeys. All now balanced, working, living holistically, and in happy and healthy relationships, they want to give back to the bipolar community so no one else has to go through what they did. INFJs, empathic, and caretakers, as many in the bipolar community are, they want to ensure no one goes through life feeling alone or lost. We simply have to be there for one another.
Mentoring usually is conducted over the phone, with a call set up once a week at a regularly scheduled time, but each person's needs may be different as well as preferences for communication mode and frequency. Whatever works for you, works for us. During the first communication, we will talk about where you are on your journey, what you hope to get out of your mentoring experience and then we will go from there.
Our team feels strongly that we all deserve someone who cares, regardless of what is in our wallet. Unfortunately, until we can secure a corporate sponsor — an effort now underway — we do need to offer this service at what we hope is an affordable fee, $75 per hour, as we too have financial responsibilities.
With that said, we realize not everyone can afford that. If this is the case for you, please do not let that stop you from requesting a mentor if you are in need and you would find this service of value; rather, put a note in the Comments section below explaining your situation as we will consider a sliding fee based on your ability to pay.
We are also moving very quickly to secure a sponsor so we can offer our mentoring service pro bono so, please also indicate in the Comments if you would like to be put on our waiting list. We will we notify you just as soon as we get a sponsor and an opening becomes available.
Thank you for your interest in our mentoring program. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to email Kerry at kerry@acceleratingsocialgood.com.
